Crogetti is traditionally known as the Carnevale snack in Italy. The Tuscan Carnevale starts in February after all the Christmas and New Year celebrations and helps cure the winter blues before Spring arrives.  Every area in Italy gives it a different name with a slight variation in the recipe – in Tuscany some people call it cenci (rags), bugie (lies) or chiacchere (gossip).
